For Sale

We sell the best kids and yearlings as breeding stock and to 4H families. The ones that don’t meet our standards are sent to the sale. We make out best effort to place the ones that are sold in homes where they will be appreciated and contribute to the lives of their owners. Please call or email if you would like to talk about the herd, want more information about a particular animal, and for prices. Following are some things you might like to know about the herd.
PARASITE AND DISEASE CONTROL
Parasite and disease control are approached from a management perspective. There has not been an incidence of CL in the herd. CD&T or Covexin 8 are administered to the kids and boosted yearly. Examination of fecal samples helps determine whether the wormer being used is effective. We are proactive, not waiting until there are signs of worm infestation. Langston State University is a valuable resource providing guidelines and information based on current research.
CAE
Early on we began testing for CAE. The kids were on treated colostrum and pasteurized milk for a number of years. 2006 was our last test and at that time there had been three years of negative CAE tests.
LINEAR APPRAISAL
We participated in ADGA's Linear Appraisal Program in 2006 and 2008. We found it to be very helpful in identifying the animals that had the qualities we were seeking as well as the ones who would probably not perform very well.
By using line breeding we are seeing more consistency and higher quality with each generation.
